Accessibility with GPT type Drives on Win XP?

A quicky: when you encounter accessibility issues with GPT Drives (something to do with Windows Vista) on other systems, you have to somehow “clean” them before you can even format them (which is useful or even mandatory for new drives etc).

In Windows XP, you have to do the following:

  1. Go to command prompt >Start > Run
  2. Type: “diskpart”
  3. Type: “list disk” (Here you’ll see all the disks with their drive numbers)
  4. Type: “select disk 1” (or disk 0, of 2 of 3 etc. Just select the GPT type of hard drive in question)
  5. Type: “clean” (GPT partition will be erased)

Now you can format it and use it! Mwhahaha, am I not smart? Am I not brilliant? Yes I am!

“Ehm dude, you found this on the GOT board. Stop patting yourself on the back for something like copying someone’s solution!”

Geez alright, I was just going to address that! A big thank you to a GOT poster called Undertaker2!
